Mission Trails / Cows mountain are the best places to go Hiking inside the City. The best part is dogs with leash are welcomed on the mountain. Woo Hoo or Bow Wow!

Stunning flora around the place (if you like desert terrain), very quiet and peaceful. I wouldn't go here on a hot day but otherwise it is a nice retreat from the city

We got to Mission Trails visitor center a bit late as they close at 5pm so we just took the short visitor center trail for 1.5 miles. It is very nice and goes by the San Diego river. there is a spot that you can wade across. I quite enjoyed it as a short hike.

We had organized before hand a talk from one of the rangers at the visitor center. He was so informative and humorous that we thoroughly enjoyed our hour talk. He felt sorry for us that we were missing out being on the trails that he showed us a movie of the area. Not quite the same but gave us a glimpse of what could be. We will have to come back on a drier day. We thank the staff for being so accommodating.…

Only had time to drive through and stop at the visitor center. Would really of liked to take the trail to The dam. Area is well maintained and beautiful. Lots of displays and outdoor View from center was lovely.
