The Coronado Bay Bridge is a delight to transverse. A trip across the bridge offers an excellent view of downtown San Diego and the city of Coronado. Travel is in both directions and will be busy during work hours. There is no toll fee. No stopping is allowed while on the bridge. Best to have someone with you to take pictures as the memories will be priceless!

A beautiful bridge over San Diego Bay. Great to drive over or boat under for terrific views. Back in the day people used the ferry to access Coronado or drove around to the silver strand. It was originally a toll bridge utilizing the fees to pay for the adware winng structure. That strategy actually worked. It paid for itself and the toll was removed. Hard to believe but true.

I wouldnt call it a beautiful bridge. It is an incredible structure and a quick and free way of getting onto the island, no tolls these days. The views either side even as a passenger are restricted due to the high walls. Best view is from the water if you take a trip

I really wish someone else had been driving so I could just enjoy the views fr/ so far about the bay and city. Luckily? on the return trip I got caught in some traffic so could stop and enjoy the view (briefly).
It is an interesting drive and fun to see the bridge fr/ below (especially on one of the harbor cruises) and then realize that you are on top of the thing that looked so far up fr/ below!

The bridge and Coronado area was visible from our room on the ninth floor. It was awesome to view as the sun began to set. We were able to capture the sun settling for the evening see the ships in the harbor and the festive evening lights that make San Diego, CA so beautiful from our room.

I can't believe they have a listing for a bridge, but it was really cool, and we did take forever driving around (not using gps) trying to find where it started (find National or Coronado, or use gps, lol). We had a wonderful time on Coronado, the state beach and Imperial pier, walking around town and eating at City Tacos. This was a highlight of our time here, so I'm glad we found the bridge! Of course, you don't HAVE to take the bridge to get to Coronado, but it's definitely a thrill to drive it.

The main route into Coronado. Built high so that aircraft carriers can go under. Great views of San Diego. Probably gets congested during rush hour but if you go during off hours, no problems.

The mid section of this crazy-long bridge actually floats in the event of a military attack!
I had to close my eyes during our first few crossings from San Diego downtown to Coronado Island. Serious vertigo will mess with your equilibrium. Enjoy the view once calm!

We rode across this bridge on our hop on and off bus tour. It was a great experience. Our tour bus driver told us some people are afraid of it but we loved it. I would recommend going across this bridge just for he experience of it.

We cruised under the Coronado Bridge on our Flagship Cruise that covers the South Bay. We've driven over the Coronado Bridge many times from San Diego to Coronado Island. It gives it a unique perspective though to see it from the water.

We'll be staying in San Diego with no car, what is the best way to get to the Coronado Hotel

probably by taxi ... I am sure that bus goes that direction, but could be a long ride especially if you have baggage
