About
Seaport Village is a vibrant harborside spot with stellar views of the San Diego skyline. There’s plenty to do here—stroll along the promenade, check out the art galleries, enjoy a meal at an upscale restaurant or do some shopping (local wines and souvenirs are good buys). Younger children will love the historic hand-carved carousel. Weekdays are the best time to visit when it’s less crowded and the vibe is more laid-back. The village is a stop on many hop-on, hop-off trolley tours of San Diego; include a visit to the USS Midway Museum and Maritime Museum along the way. – Tripadvisor

- VanessaSydney, Australia415 contributionsBeautiful viewsSeaport Village is located right long the waterfront in San Diego. There is a wide, flat footpath taking you along the waterfront from the Convention Centre to past the USS Midway Museum. Beautiful water views, views of the Coronado Bridge, the USS Midway and in the Village itself, there are lots of shops and restaurants. A great easy place to visit.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 November 2023
- TawnyrvalOntario, California4,225 contributionsWorth a visit! Plan Lunch or Dinner!Late post Came with some friends and one of them kinda broke her leg so she we knew we couldn’t walk around too much but the Village itself is quite beautiful, people come to walk around the boardwalk, chill at the park and best of all they are dog friendly. The stores are typical of most places, The Bay company souvenir shop, boutiques, sun glasses, hat store, crazy shirts, toy store, hot sauce store and so much more. Can’t wait to come again and actually walk around the whole place! Give them a visit!Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten 16 November 2023
- cohomanSammamish, Washington2,391 contributionsNice place to visit on a sunny dayGreat place to visit when the weather is nice outside. Lots of shops and restaurants grouped right by the water. Even has a working carousel. You can also walk along the boardwalk. There is paid parking onsite, but it is pricey. We stayed for 1.5 hrs and were charged $16. Definitely a nice place to wander around and get lunch or dinner.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 December 2023
- Vicki152014Creston, Washington12 contributionsFun little shopping and walking areaFun little area to walk, shop and see some history. We didn't have time to tour the Midway, but we spent a little bit of time in that area. The shopping area was a lot of fun, just enough variety for all of us. There are a few places to eat, we enjoyed some great seafood at the restaurant right by the Midway.Visited February 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 13 March 2024

We didn’t have too much time to spend here but enjoyed what we were able to do. From here, we walked back up to the USS Midway/Maritime Museum area.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 14 March 2024

Some ecclectic, and others mainstream with some arts and crafts thrown in the mix. Bars and food also available with very limited waiting time.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 April 2024
- JemlnlxBronx, New York5,702 contributionsLovely was to spend the afternoon...Lovely afternoon at the Seaport Village. Scenic walkable area with lots of small shops and food options. The main parking lot is about $8 per hour...but arriving at around 5pm on a Thursday afternoon, we saw a parking lot next to that one for only $5 for three (3) hours. Keep an eye out for this one if visiting. Lots of photo ops along the San Diego Bay. You can walk along the water up the USS Midway, piers, Maritime Museum and Waterfront Park areas.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 April 2024

Watch out for the birds they dive for your head and ruin your car while it is parked. Some shopping available with lovely walking paths along the water. We felt safe in this area. When parking at the Navy Pier Lot to visit USS Midway, you have multiple choice of time slots you can pick. I picked 2-6 hours which gave us time to walk down the short pier to visit Seaport Village. We were there on a Sunday, it wasn’t too busy, they even had some colorfully dressed dancers performing in on of the public areas.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 May 2024

Beautiful setting along the waterfront with views of the Coronado bridge. Unique shops, pop up vendors, full service restaurants as well as a food court. Fun for all ages. So relaxing to grab a coffee and sit and watch the sailboats. There’s a fee for parking so be sure to get your parking ticket validated at a shop or restaurant.

Parking costs are out of line. Everything closes down fairly early. But a really neat area, very clean, cute eclectic shops and great views at the marina. There was a concert going on while we were there, a few drunk people stumbling off, but all in all seemed like a nice fun area!

I've always loved going to Seaport Village when visiting San Diego. It's fun to walk around and enjoy the beautiful views, enjoy a meal and shop.
This trip we did another Seal Tour (which was wonderful) and we did the City Lights Trolley Tour (which was also wonderful). We decided to just hang out, shop and walk around in between the tours, which we enjoyed very much.
We were SHOCKED when we left the parking lot in the evening and were going to be charged $80 to park!
Luckily the two tours validated our parking and brought it down to $44, but that is still ridiculous.
Yes we were parked there for half the afternoon but I will never park there again.
We spent money to eat, shop, 2 tours and then have to pay that much money to park...and we never saw a sign with the parking rates in advance or we never would have. I travel a lot and have never paid that much money just to park.
We had a great day but this ruined it, and by watching the people leaving in line in front of us, there were a lot of other seriously unhappy patrons.
**Later that week we paid just $7.50 to park by 'The Kiss', walk around and visit the Maritime Museum for 3 hours.

Seaport Village is a great experience for families, couples, and singles alike. On the banks of the San Diego Marina opposite Coronado and amid scores of yachts and schooners, there are dozens of restaurants, shops and attractions for everyone. The San Pascual Winery has a shop offering tastings and pairings for the oenologist and wine connoisseur. On the green there are artists, jugglers, and even sword swallowers and fire eaters. It's impossible not to have fun at Seaport. You should definitely put it on your must see list when you visit San Diego.

We liked our visit here. It was a beautiful day which makes it better. The parking meters upon exit weren’t working and once they did start again, we found out that we needed to get our parking validated otherwise we’d end up paying a much higher rate. The attendant helped us and honoured a validated rate.

We were staying near the harbor and my daughter wanted to buy some souvenirs. Luckily we found Seaport Village West which had enough gift shops for her to roam. We already had lunch but found a Ben and Jerry's stand for dessert. There were ample places to sit and people watch. Would highly recommend stopping in the Crazy Shirts store for unusual San Diego shirts - good quality and nice designs.

First of all we found parking very easy. We asked at our hotel and he said it would be difficult and metered. Yes to the latter but lots of places to park along the embarcadero let alone multistory or underground. Sure it may be busier in Summer.
Anyway. nice area to wander round. Through the shops, eclectic as others have said, Christmas decorations - the cheapest I saw was $14, sock shops etc and plenty of places to eat, fake beach areas to sit. We walked along to see The Unconditional surrender statue - its huge and the Bob Hope military one- definately check that out. You can at least see if not visit the USS Medway from here.

Don't park here! They have an attendant that "blocks" the view of parking rates. The city should do something about that! Nice stroll at the water if it was not for the parking rip off. Cheesecake factory lunch - validation only worth $3.00 ! - be aware! MeuterMedia

This is a wonderful area, with shops and restaurants, right along the San Diego Harbor promenade. We enjoyed walking around watching the sailboats, seagulls and seals! We also enjoyed watching the Navy planes and helicopters taking off and landing. The skyscape is so pretty and the sunset was gorgeous. Some folks were riding bikes, some folks were fishing in the area and some were using the barbecue pits. It’s a really nice area!

We stayed in the Gas Lamp district and were relieved to find this waterfront oasis. The views of the bay were beautiful at night with the city lights. They had lots of food and shopping options for every budget. The businesses also provided live music which was an extra bonus. You will enjoy playing tourist here with all the daytime water activities as well 😀. This business district has gone out of their way to create a pleasant experience. Extra bonus….free clean bathrooms.

Can someone please explain the parking to me? I was there less than 4 hours (did a tour) and had it validated. How on earth did they charge me $40? There was nobody there to help me so I paid it but it doesn’t seem right at all! I didn’t even get a receipt! Seems like a scam to me.

When we were there we took an Uber, but you could park all day at the Midway for $10 and it’s not too far to walk to Seaport Village.
We parked there to do the Harbor Tour one day and stayed all day!
Much better price than the metered parking prices.

We are planning on going in October but the parking price is OUTRAGEOUS. Is there any place cheaper to park in the area?

There is parking behind the Manchester Grand Hyatt hotel where I stayed but I am not sure how much it cost to park there. The village is behind the said hotel. You can check the hotel's website to be sure.

Can you smell smoke from the current SD County forest fires....or is the air fairly clear? We are scheduled to be there next week.

I took my son to SV a lot of time, but about 20 years ago. Can we still arrive and just walk around shops?
Written 31 March 2017
There is a charge for parking in the lot and walking around, yes restaurants validate. If you will be hanging around the area all day, cheapest parking if north of the USS Midway.

If you have a handicap sticker or plates is the parking free or discounted?
Written 5 March 2017
Hi John,
While we do have designated spots for those with a handicap sticker or plates the parking rate is the same as anyone else who parks in the lot. No discounts. Hope this helps.

Where is the best parking for visiting Seaport Village?
Written 21 February 2017
Hi there! Seaport Village has a self park lot that you can enter at from Pacific Highway. Pacific Highway dead ends into our parking lot and then you pull a ticket. The important thing to remember is to get your parking ticket validated at one of our shops or restaurants! Validated rate is $5 for the first 3 hours Monday - Thursday and $5 for the first 2 hours Friday - Sunday. If you do not get your ticket validated it is $8 an hour. There are also meter parking spaces on the streets surrounding the shopping center but they do fill up quickly. I hope this helps!

Hi would like to know of places where they have live music or live bands playing or live salsa dancing
Written 18 February 2017
Hi there! Seaport Village has live bands in their east plaza gazebo every Sunday from 1 pm - 4 pm excluding the holidays when they have Santa or the Easter Bunny located in that space. Their sister property, The Headquarters at Seaport, located across the parking lot from Seaport Village has live salsa music the 3rd Friday of every month from 6 pm - 9 pm. The name of that event is Salsa Under the Stars. Hope this helps!
