Disappointed
May 2021
I visit Harrah's usually 2-3 times per year. I have always loved the excitement, shopping, and dining. I visited with my sister in May 2021 and was very disappointed. I do not play slot machines. I play the poker machines or live dealers. There is a particular set of poker machines that I always play and usually have good luck. This time however, I noticed 2 of the only 4 machines of this kind were turned off. I thought they must be broken. Later that day I noticed a lady and gentleman were playing the 2 that had been turned off all day. I thought great, they must be repaired. Once they were finished playing (about 1 hour), I did go on the one machine and played and cashed in for a little winnings. The next day when I went down to the casino to play the same 2 machines were off again. I thought this was odd but didn't question it, until that afternoon the SAME 2 people were on the machines and they were playing them again. Now my curiosity was peaked. I asked someone that worked there, why those 2 machines were turned off except when those 2 people wanted to play them. She said "they can do that, they are 7 star tier members". I was livid. Does the rest of Harrah's customer not matter! I looked at the tier status benefits and being 7 star does not offer reserving machines or places at the poker tables. I understand they spend a lot of money there and they probably know them by name and cater to them anytime they visit, but this is just not right. It ruined my entire trip! So I caution you, if you are not one of Harrah's elite guest, expect to be treated as second rate citizens. It's too bad really because I like the food, shopping, and staying in the hotel but that is my last trip. I live close to Kings Mountain N.C. which is in the process of building a new casino. Hopefully, they will treat ALL their guest the same regardless of tier status.

LADIES - Try a SIGNATURE FACIAL!
Nov 2020
I spend a lot of weekends at Cherokee but went up for Thanksgiving and was pleasantly surprised with a signature facial. I had a coupon to use and there were no slots open for my usual massage so I tried a facial. John was my technician and I was absolutely amazed at how great my complexion looked when he was through. I am in my - well let's just say I am past middle-aged - and my skin was radiant, soft and really smooth. So ladies, try it out - you will not be disappointed.

Think again.
Nov 2020 • Couples
I travel a lot, even during Covid, mostly for business and occasionally for pleasure. There are certain things that I look for and expect from a hotel. When entering a hotel room, I check all high touch areas, such as door handles, light fixtures and bathroom fixtures for cleanliness. The bathroom fixtures in the room I stayed in at Harrahs Resort in Cherokee was filthy. Water spots and toothpaste splatter all over the faucet and bathroom mirror. I also look for trash cans in the bathroom and sleeping area. There was one trash can in each location and both were gross. Chewed gum was stuck to the side of the trash can and they appeared to have not been cleaned or wiped down in a very long time.
Due to covid, this resort has chosen to remove two items from the rooms: the guestbook and the coffee makers. These are two must have amenities for travelers. The guest book lets guests know when to check out where they can find restaurants nearby and a litany of other relevant information. The coffee maker, is an out right necessity, especially in a big resort. Being able to make a cup in your room is one less contact interaction with staff and other guests. This was the first hotel I have encountered that chose to remove these items from the room. My room had a broken drawer on the dresser, which is not so much an issue as they don’t know if it doesn’t get reported.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in and check out was easy and convenient.
One other note to consider is their pricing, which changes throughout the day for the same room. I sought to stay a second night and while the price for the room was fair for the original night, it doubled for the second night and I was told to book wary because the price would go up throughout the day. Needless to say, I went to another hotel, for a third of the price, that was clean, had a guestbook and coffee in the room with free WiFi and a brown bag continental breakfast.
Harrahs should consider the guest experience when making decisions rather than convenience of the staff. The staff wouldn’t have a job without the guests.

Enjoy Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel & Casino
Oct 2020 • Couples
We recently spent a couple of days at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Resort. We had a very good time there. The casino was very clean and the rooms were spotlessly immaculate. The food there was tasteful and well prepared at Brio’s Restaurant. We ate a very good breakfast at Selu’s Garden Restaurant. We had a very good waiter who is tops, his name is Tim. The slots here were a lot of fun. If you get the chance try this place, maybe you’ll get lucky and get a good win, we did.

Great hotel & casino
Oct 2020 • Solo
Right near Smoky Mountains. Great place for a little casino fun, and a lot of Smoky Mountains fun. Take in a hike and certainly visit Clingmans Dome for sunrise and/or sunset.
Staff is amazing. Rooms are large and clean. Housekeeping staff is thorough. Covid restrictions are reasonable. Definitely was a great experience.

bad game playing
Sep 2020
The casino is still under their new expansion. WE THE CUSTOMERS are paying a high price in playing in this casino - more so than the casino is paying out to us. The more you play, the more you loose. Many complaints about this from the people who play there hoping to win something more to help pay for their trip. The Food court hasn't changed at all on the casino floor and the food service and quality is very poor to say the least. The chef's stage buffet is only fair and the cost doesn't you pay for a meal inside there isn't the same like in Vegas. So to all of you reading this posting is that it is a nice place to visit - but wait until this new new expansion is totally over before you loose everything back to them.

Masks make the experience terrible.
Sep 2020
Not the hotel. The Casino employees. It is bad enough everyone hates wearing a mask but to have their floor employees tell me how to wear a mask is over the line. The casino is packed with senior citizens in the 80s. Why do you let the most people likely to die in at all. It does not make any sense. It simply is not fun to not be able to breath and try to find relief just to have a employee tell you how to wear your mask and by the way I had a drink in my hand. My advise would be to not go in the casino. Hotel was ok and reasonable but not the casino. Stay away until mask mandate is lifted.

Disappointed
Aug 2020
I went to Harrahs for a 1 night stay 8/20/2020 to maintain my Diamond elite status and requested a non smoking room but the hotel said all that was available was a smoking room, The hotel room smelled so strong of cigar smoke that a can of Lysol did not help. There was dirty towels left in the shower and all corners had dust and mold build up. As for the casino I did not have my temp checked as posted, I did not see any cleaning of machines between players, social distancing was less than 3 feet instead of 6 feet and as more players showed up more machines were opened which reduced the distance even more. As for the play, in 8 hours I was in the Casino I heard 1 announcement of a big win, I did not see any big jack pots or payouts. Every body was complaining about how tight the machines were playing and if you did hit a bonus the pay out was so small it was a joke. I tried several machines and they were all the same, put in a $20 bill play 15 hands and move on. It is sad that Harrahs has to rob the people to stay open
