Nice location to take a break from driving and just to soak up the sights down into the Black Canyon as well as looking at the mountains. Nice ramada, picnic tables and bathroom facilites.

I didn't do this trail - it's rather strenuous. However, the view from here is spectacular. Highly recommend a stop (and a picnic in the covered area!). It's a great place.

It is a 3 mile down and then on the way back 3 miles up. The trail is well maintained but be prepared for a good workout since elevation change between trailhead and the end of the trail at the Hermit Rest is about 1800...More
