Amazing backcountry views
Jun 2021
Wide trail leading to breathtaking views of the canyon. Off the beaten path, so not many tourists. The bridges are worth the trek for sure!

We took a shuttle and went all the way through the portal. In hindsight, it was a thrill but I don't need to do it again. A great option is to just drive up and park there and do the trails like Bull Run and the Getaway, the the Horsethief trails. Fantastic amount of trails here. Gold Bar rim is super burly; everyone will walk some. If you decide to do Portal, don't worry, it can be very safely and easily walked, but large parts of the lower half are unridable for most.

Beautiful Twin Bridges
Aug 2020
Very nice surprise in the middle of nowhere. We walked/hiked around the area to catch the views from different angles. Stop and see the plaque for a young man who lost his life there.

Great Trail but use Caution.
Aug 2020 • Couples
This was our first Trail with our personal Jeep Wrangler that is not lifted. Please use caution on Rockier parts. Can damage your personal unlifted vehicle. We navigated without damage but was very concerned for a Mile or so of rocky terrain with jagged rocks that can damage the undercarriage. Don’t take a car here. Spend the money and get a lifted rental Jeep. The trail led to beautiful places especially Gemini bridge after a short Hike. We then finished by taking the Long Canyon Trail back to the main road to Moab.

just when you thought you were on flatter land...
Jul 2020
Driving conditions from beginning to end of the full length of the Gemini Bridges Road either coming up from 191 or coming down from Canyonlands can get a little rutty and really rocky after a few rains, which, although uncommon, can happen. Check w/the visitor center before traveling, they'll shoot you straight. The Bridges hike is a quick one and the bridges themselves are incredible and knee buckling when you get that visual through the first tunnel. Great quick stop on your way out of or into Canyonlands.

Best to shuttle
Jul 2020
Great shuttle trail, with some sand, rock gardens, slickrock and views. Intermediate overall. Opportunity to stop and take photos at Gemini Bridge rock formation. Some 4X4 moto use.

Fun And Easy

This trail is great for those that are wanting to get out and explore but not get into anything difficult. Stock vehicles would be able to travel down this trail easily.

Worth the time

Cool feature and easy to get to. It's a bumpy dirt road, but not especially difficult. A car could probably do it--though I wouldn't recommend it. SUV will be fine.

Gemini Bridges & Long Canyon

First trail after the Arch's. First felt like just a gravel road with a steep climb, then turned a corner, then WOW. This got me hooked on exploring the back roads. If you have a chance to try, DO IT. Rent a Jeep or take a tour, You will not regret it.

rented a jeep from Jenn's Jeeps and was recommended to this trail. trail begins just off 191 and starts on low level climbing into and around mountains very rapidly and without knowing you climb and are looking down maybe 4-5 hundred feet bridges themselves were impressive but was difficult due to height and angle to see that they were bridges but a great trip with rental Jeep
