Close To Robin's Nest

This park has parking but if you don't know it is here you will drive right past. The beach is not crowded. Locals were here when we came and they said it is normally quiet like when we were there. The reason I stopped is because the set for Magnum PI is just up the road so I was able to see the breakwater that was used many times on the set. Nice sandy beach and greenish blue water with Rabbit Island out across the sea.

Beautiful Beach away from city
Jan 2020
Our family always come to this beach because it’s less crowded and yet beautiful. The turquoise water is so relaxing. The ambiance is phenomenal, you can see the Rabbit Island and Twin Islands. Parking is limited but I’m sure you can find one. There is restroom, showers and picnic tables too. Great for parties.

Great to re-visit the local beach!
Jul 2019 • Family
We first visited this beach in 2012 following a family photography shoot and fell in love with it then. It's a "locals beac" with calm waves and picturesque views. We came here this time straight from the airport with our snorkeling gear in tow. We had another enjoyable time and will come back again in the future.

A local beach for everybody.

I had a photo shoot scheduled with a model at 07:00 in the morning and of course while driving there it was pouring down raining. Well by the time we got to the parking lot it stopped raining. I met with my model Kaitlin and we walked down to the beach to get ready to shoot. The water was perfect with that bluish-green and nice sandy beach with great views of the mountains and islands around us. There was only a couple of people on the beach at that hour of the morning but that would soon change. After shooting my photo session with Kaitlin and she left for home, we decided to get in the water since we are here. One thing I did not have on and wish I
did was my water shoes, I found out the hard way... there are rocks! A few times a turtle kept popping it's head up about 40-50 feet away. Problem with snorkeling so close to shore is the sand is so fine it mixes in with the waves and visibility is about one foot! One of the local boat clubs was launching a boat, so I shot a few photos
with my GoPro. About 30-45 minutes in the water we had to leave and get to the Airport for our flight back to the states. We were probably the only "tourists" on the beach and even though there was maybe about 75 people when we left, it is still a great place to go.

Beautiful Beach for Low-key Snorkeling
Aug 2018 • Couples
So happy we went, the beach is absolutely breathtaking! The sand is so soft and the water is so blue! We arrived at 9am morning and stayed for 6 hours. We also brought some snorkel gear and saw some fish!

Magnum P.I. Tidal Pool
May 2018 • Couples
We parked in the Kaiona Beach parking lot and walked to the beach and to the right to the tidal pool that was used in the Magnum P.I. TV show. The house is being torn down, but the tidal pool is still there. The water is warm and pristine with soft sand. The wall keeps out the waves making for a relaxing swim. Almost no one was there when we went and it's less than a 30 minute drive from Waikiki.

Lovely relaxed beach with few people
Apr 2018 • Friends
This beach had great views and we did not really see a lot of people around, maybe they do not know about it or the day we went was a day when they decided to do something different, good for kayaking, snorkelling, eating in a picnic with family etc, just enjoy and relax.
