About Small Kine Farm
Why everyone loves mushrooms? How does a recycling company give rise to an USDA certified organic mushroom farm? Not only are we the only Portabella farm in Hawai‘i, but by using our own compost and a high-tech pasteurization and growing process, we have been able to produce safe, high quality USDA certified organic mushrooms. Tour includes 15 minutes of presentation on the farm history. 30 minutes of guided composting and cultivation process. 20 minutes of mushroom tasting and fun.

This was worth it and interesting enough to have anyone engaged. Our guide had a birthday the night before so was suffering from the bottle flu but as the tour went on he loosened up and became a lot more fun. The tour is not long but was really neat and interesting. I'll say that the first part, they bring out these binders (which need work,) was hard to get through but the tour guide's attitude and demeanor gets you through that part. The strongest part of the tour is seeing how the mushrooms are grown, the mistakes they've made along the way in discovering how to do this new thing better, and learning more about mushrooms in general.

This tour was so good and more than I expected. Mr. Yang was very educational and funny. I love the history of how this became to be and the process. Mostly love the mushrooms.

I love mushrooms! Zach did a great job educating us about the entire sustainable farming process of growing mushrooms. We didn't realize how important it was that mushrooms have just the right light, compost and air circulation. Zach sauteed some yummy mushrooms for us too! And eating fresh mushrooms is so much better than store bought! God bless you Zach and your farming business! Nobody grows mushrooms like Zach does!

SMALL KINE MUSHROOM FARM was my family's favorite part of our trip to Oahu. We could not stop talking about Yang, his story, his farms and his incredible tasting mushrooms for the rest of our trip. We come from an area of California referred to as "the salad bowl" because we grow all kinds of vegetables here, but Yang's mushrooms were the freshest and tastiest mushrooms I have ever encountered. I wish I could get those tasty mushrooms back home!! The story, tour and tasting were absolutely fabulous, take your family and friends and especially any young entrepreneurs to meet Yang and hear his story, he is such a cool guy with a great tale to tell!! You must come see small kine mushroom farms while on Oahu.
