We spent the day at Kailua Beach Park then drove over to Lanikai to see what all the hubbub was about. It is a beautiful beach but tough to find parking unless you get ther early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

I had previously read about this beach and it certainly lived up tp my expectations. Glorious azure blue water and soft fine sand. I did some snorkelling up the southern end one day. When I tried the other end near Kailua beach there were no...More

Beautiful vistas, exquisite sand, clean & quiet beach!! Snorkel, swim, & relax with an incredible view. Rent a kayak to explore the Moke’s & Flat Islands. A magical place & I’m ready to return now!!!

This is nice long flat beach that is great for playing sports are relaxing. The waves are smaller so it is good for the younger kids to boogie board, but they are usually to small for the teenagers. The flat beach also makes it great...More

Of all the beaches I visited in Oahu, Lanikai was my least favorite. It was the most crowded, windiest, and coldest (both air and water temperature wise). There was dog waste of the beach - sad. Got stung by jellyfish both times I visited. There...More

We stayed on Oahu for 10 days so explored pretty much every nook and cranny the island has to offer. This was by far the most beautiful beach we went to. Hidden away a bit but such a paradise. Beautiful calm crystal waters, soft white...More

It’s so interesting how different beaches can be in Oahu. This was our first trip to Lanikai and it did not disappoint. Water is turquoise, but a little chilly yesterday. Sand is fine, white sand like you would find in Destin, Florida. Started getting crowded...More

Parking for this tiny overcrowded beach is almost nonexistent. There are no bathrooms, no lifeguard, and no room for much of anything. There are canoes taking up much of the usable beach, and rough coral very close to shore, making it treacherous for swimming. Save...More

The beach of a million social media picture postings is just like most social media images - not exactly what it seems. Parking is a nightmare when it is allowed, and impossible on any 3 day weekend when it is banned from 10am - 3pm...More

It must be mentioned that although beautiful, Lanikai is not a beach for the huge amount of people who have tried to find parking or space to sit on it. Kailua beach is better suited to the number of beachgoers and has all the amenities...More

Haven't been to the other spots you mentioned but my wife and I loved Lanikai! We found 3 turtles out there and we swam with them for half an hour before they moved on. It was awesome! Plus it's a quiet beach, less touristy... More

I’m sure you can but it would be a long drive. I recommend renting a car so you can hang out at the beach and visit the many restaurants and shops. I always rent a car so I can travel and visit at my pace.
