The Iao Valley is absolutely gorgeous. It's geography is like none other encountered in the US. The Heritage Park is fascinating. The various buildings on the grounds represent the variety of cultures that have lived on and influenced Maui. Great historical perspective.

Came here on our way to the airport. So glad we stopped here! Beautiful gardens nestled in the Iao valley with luah , green mountain background. Loved learning about when different groups immigrated to Hawaii. We had great weather, a nice cool breeze filled the...More

Despite current construction and areas restricted due to recent weather damage we found lots to enjoy. The river is immediately nearby and was low during our visit. Because of this we were able to reach the trail despite the pipe bridge being closed. Use extreme...More

Very cool stop, especially for those wanting a deeper understanding of the uniqueness and diversity of Hawaii. The park itself is beautiful. On a hot muggy day at the seashore, a visit here would provide a cool refreshing break. Cute little non-touristy town with shops...More

This place was really neat with multiple nationalities represented. They say don't go on the weekend if you want to avoid crowds, it gets very busy...but it's suppose to be a whole lot of fun.

Don't forget your umbrella/rain gear. This area is one of the wettest places on earth. Beautiful park to reflect on history and cost to Hawaiian inhabitants and immigrants. Paved paths for short walks. Covered shelters for picnics with grills. Free parking and entrance.
