So this beach I never thought of as particularly family friendly because it’s such an amazingly technical surf spot but my friends who live there encouraged us to go and use the entry by the rocks. Do NOT bother the turtles! There’s also a sweet...More

The beach is beautiful. The sea turtles were so cute! Please don’t go and try and touch them! There were a lot of locals but they were sweet! I was so scared to go because of the reviews! I was afraid someone would attack my...More

This is a world renown beach for it's World Championship Windsurfer Contest. Any day of the week you can watch highly skilled windsurfers practicing. As an added bonus, green sea turtles crawl out of the ocean to rest on this beach. I have seen over...More

We stopped here for a quick picnic before heading to the airport to catch our flight to the mainland. Nice way to wind up our Hawaiian vacation. Loved seeing so many turtles!

Best place to view turtles and surf. This place can be a part of the road to hana as the first pit stop. I saw photos in the review where you can go up close to the turtles, but recently there's now people guarding the...More

You could swim here. There were people snorkeling when we went but you will need to be a pretty strong swimmer.

As many have stated it would seem that dusk (just prior to sunset) seems to be when you are most likely to see turtles in great numbers. However, I think that there are some on the beach at any time during the day.
