I was forgetful enough to leave my backpack AND mobile phone in the car park which was luckily handed in to Park Rangers and collected the following day so you know the people travelling here are genuine! Aside from this, the beach itself is absolutely...More

After, we have been in many cities, we decided to visit the beautiful park with interesting geography and sites. However, Road to Hana trip. The black sand beach is just breathtaking and we stayed in the campground area for three nights. It was a great...More

Wai'anapanapa State Park is a beautiful place to stop and in my opinion, is the jewel of the Road to Hana⁢.

Without a doubt, a must see stop on the road to Hana. If you plan to swim, this is one of the best places to do it. It’s busy, but so beautiful with it’s black sand and blue water.

The black sand beach here was my favorite in Maui. None of the pictures I took do the true beauty of this beach any justice. The contrast between the black sand, the green plant life and blue water is so vivid. I recommend wandering around...More

Had a blast exploring the park and the trail along the coast. Black Sand Beach was soft and one of a kind and the cavern was spectacular. Well worth the drive to Hana and a must stop when you arrive.

I WAS ANNOYED…. I’d spent too much time at the underwhelming/overhyped HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK – OHEO GULCH** south of HANA meaning I was running out of daylight at this much better STATE PARK north of town Thing is HANA and the roads to it have...More

We loved the beach and scenery so much, we took the road to Hana twice to see again and get more pix.

Must stop when traveling the Road to Hana on Maui Hawaii. Walking trails. Wear comfortable sneakers or hiking shoes. Blow holes and wonderful scenery of pacific. Bathrooms available. Fresh water showers.......picnic tables....plenty of parking.....no charge to enter. Food truck.....road is very narrow.

We stopped here after a disappointing Road to Hana drive (the finishing point was anti-climatic). It was an incredibly windy day so the large waves crashing at the cliffs and on the black sand beach made some good pictures. You can follow the trail along...More

I'm sorry I don't know but it is a state park so I'm sure there's a government site that can give you that info.

The park is busy in the day, quite a few folks around, we hiked and it was fine. I would recommend that you call in ahead and check what the outdoor camping facilities are, then make a decision about over night. all the... More

Definitely make the stop at this park. My husband and I went in July for our honeymoon and we really enjoyed it. I would say it is #3 on my list. Make sure you venture into the caves. Our top other things to do would be a... More
