There are not many people here. Plenty of beach area and logs. Ghost crabs keep ya company and we found the water here to be a bit tamer so swimming was alright. Yes there are no facilities here, but it's quiet and we could've spent...More

I absolutely love Kalihiwai Beach. This is always a favorite of ours. Sometimes it can get a little windy but we have never had a disappointing day there!!!

Kalihiwai is a pretty little beach but there are not rest room facilities except for a poorly maintained porta potty. No life guard and depending in the surf can be unsafe for swimming.

No showers, no bathrooms (don't even go near those porta-potties), no food trucks, no paved parking lot. Why do we love this beach? It's clean, secluded (mostly locals), has great river access, nice for kids and families, and all around fun. We loved the fresh...More

Mostly local families at beach with a few tourists. Easy parking under large trees right on beach. Not the hustle of large crowds at Anini beach. Good swimming with large waves on ocean side, while calm on river side. Not good for snorkeling. Rope swing...More

Tough beach to find, hesitant to write a review, hoping to keep the crowds away. A mix of locals with kekis & a few tourists. Saw a shark fin swimming by, might keep the crowds away. No facilities, like bathrooms or showers, signs when you...More

This beach is protected by a reef out a little way. The beach was nice and not very many people were there. They had tables and trees and water to wash off with. Very nice park. I highly recommend this place. I had a blast...More

Drive south after Hanalei Bay, stop off at Pink's for a drink or ice cream, and make a left onto Kalihiwai Road. The most scenic beach awaits you. This is a calm, relaxing swimming or paddle boarding beach. Come here for peace and relaxation. Take...More

So many beaches in Kauai, and so little time. I am reluctant to write about this beach, as it seems to be a great secret --- we stumbled upon this beach on a Sunday afternoon, easily found parking and a shady area to sit, and...More
