We were recommended the ranch by a friend while on the big island and wow it was one of the best things we did while there! We did the ATV tour with a big party of us (10 or so) and it was a blast. The guides for our adventure were great, they took the time with each of us answered questions and was loaded with info on the ranch and the surrounding area. It was really cool while we were in the middle of the tour we saw wild boar (and piglets!),cows and more stuff then we could name. Part of the tour stopped where Jimmy Stewart had his airstrip now turned into a pasture. Also we stopped in a grove of trees that were originally planted to provide masts for the old sailing ships, these trees were huge! I don't normally write a lot of reviews (unless something really impresses me) but boy this adventure did just that. There are other ATV tours on the island but once you see one area of the island (water and more water) you have seen it all. Not so with this tour, you have great views of the coast plus the rich views of the mountain. So if you want a once in a life time adventure and something to cross off your bucket list DO THIS TOUR!!!!

I planned a vacation with my BFF and wanted to do something different. I went on Hawaii Visitors Convention Bureau and found this local owned family business. I called and booked. Keala, the ranch manager was extremely friendly and full of Aloha. Long story short She accommodated us with a time that worked for us.

We were greeted by the whole family, it was as if I was visiting my own family. The ATV experience was awesome. I have been on several ATV tours, but this was the best one so far. The combination of professional customer service, Hookipa (Hawaiian Hospitality), passion for their ‘āina (land), and just genuine Aloha for people and what they do totally made this day an awesome experience.

It was worth the drive, the view is amazing, and I ALOHA this family greatly...

I highly recommend this family. I highly recommend this experience. I highly recommend this company. I will be back! I will send people your way...

My husband, my parents and I had a great afternoon at ho’omau ranch. The ATV ride was the highlight of the trip. The family that owns this place was SO nice and welcoming and friendly. Our tour guide Martin was great and really knowledgeable and friendly. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back!

My friend and I went on a wonderful horseback riding tour on this very special, family-owned ranch. We rode for about 90 minutes and learned about the indigenous forest on their property, the ranch, as well as local culture/customs of Hawaii.
The owners were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and went out of their way to make sure we had an excellent time.
We would go back in a heartbeat!
