Great place to orient to Wisconsin - not just current but history, pre-historic, and life over the time the area was settled. Something for everyone in the family.

Really enjoyed the main floor exhibits on Milwaukee and European history. Second floor had some interesting exhibits on Milwaukee before it became a town. Most of the rest seemed like standard natural history stuff (mummies, dinosaurs, etc). The exhibits related to local history made the...More

The depth of the museum is commendable; you can essentially pick a floor and have a different experience with each visit.

We were really impressed with the extensive scope and quality of the exhibits. We spent four hours there, and could have easily spent four more. We watched two of the feature films - Titans of the Ice Age and Oceans. I would recommend both. Don't...More

There are benches in the exhibit area where yo can take a break but I don't think you can have food. You will have to come down and have your food at cafe/lunch area.

All the answers make sense to me, really. I could spend a couple hours, or a whole day, depending on other commitments. Plus, because I live in the area I can always go back!
