Excellent tour
May 2021
Captain Mike and Tory were enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Geneva Boat company are always a great tour and worth the price. Black Pointe estate gave a great tour. Only thing to note are the 120 steps to climb..not as easy as I thought ..

Wonderful way to spend a summer day at the lake
Jun 2021
You each this property via a boat tour of Lake Geneva. We had two great guides for that. It was a smaller boat with a canopy to block the sun. The tour includes information on the houses, the history and the activity around Lake Geneva. You then get to tour the estate with a guide who talks about all the generations who lived at the estate (from the 1880s through the 2000s). You return via tour of the other side of the lake. Worth the price as you get about 3 hours of activity and a boat tour that is as interesting as the house tour!

Excellent tour
Jun 2021
This just opened for the season and we had a wonderful docent (Betty) give us the tour of the estate. She was very knowledgeable and enjoyable. The only way to get there is by the Geneva Boat and that price is separate from the entry fee for the tour. There are 127 steps to climb from the boat landing up to the estate. This is not handicap accessible so unfortunately those people would not be able to take in this trip. In conclusion, we are so glad we went on this tour and learned a lot.

Amazing visit!
Jul 2020
I highly recommend visiting Black Point Estate! Our tour guide, Braiya, was very informative! She was funny, relatable, and very clearly loves her job! There wasn't a question she could not answer. The house and grounds were gorgeous and clean. I would recommend visiting in the summer, as part of the tour is outside. In addition, the boat ride to the estate was informative as well! A trip to Black Point is a great way to spend the day in Lake Geneva.

Fascinating look into Lake Geneva's past
Sep 2020
We toured the estate as part of a package with Lake Geneva Cruise Lines that also included a narrated boat tour, This is the only grand lakeside home on Lake Geneva that is open to the public. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the house and the family that had lived there. The home was donated "as is" (with all its current furnishings) to the state of Wisconsin in 2005, so it really tells the story of all 4 generations that lived there. Highly recommended if you are curious about local history. The tour is a little on the long side (the cruise allots roughly 2 hours for your estate experience, though you do have a little time to wander the grounds on your own), but all in all, very good. I would not suggest bringing younger children on this tour due to its length. Masks are currently required inside the house and tour guides encourage visitors to maintain social distancing.

Absolutely go!
Jul 2020
We took the Black Point Tour on a lovely summer day and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our party of 4 included 2 moms with our 2 college-age daughters. The boat ride to the mansion was a special treat because we heard all about the estates on the lake and the history of beautiful Geneva Lake. Our boat captain and crew were very knowledgable and entertaining, and we enjoyed having lunch on our return trip (we packed our own but you can pre-order when you book your tickets) along with beverages (alcohol and not) that are sold on the boat. Our tour guide of the Seipp home and grounds was delightful, and we enjoyed buying Seipp beer and other mementos at the gift shop to take home. I highly encourage you to take this tour!

Boat tour great, summer home so-so...
Jul 2019
Boat tour was the best. The mansion was interesting but a little bit long... it would have been nicer with some more freedom to enjoy the grounds etc...for example have a lemonade and sit on the front porch etc. roam around on our own...

House tour and Cruise
Jun 2019
This house is only accessible by the Boat Cruise. So nice to see the lake homes and hear about them as we cruised about half of the lake on our way to the summer mansion home of a Beer Baron family. Loved hearing the history while enjoying the boat ride and then the guided tour of the house.
They forewarned us of the 200 steps up from the dock to the house. Then there were beautiful gardens to enjoy besides the house tour. All very enjoyable. I've gone twice and thoroughly enjoyed it.
