Lilacs galore!
May 2021 • Couples
This was a beautiful garden to walk through, especially if you love lilacs. The history of the place was awesome as well. The only reason I gave it a four was because the house/museum wasnt able to open because of COVID-19 restrictions. It looked like a neat home and I would have liked to see it.

My favorite flower.

I came here when I was 14 and purchased two lilacs. Now I am 65 and it has changed a lot. Because of Covid the house is closed. However the grounds are open and lovely!
There is also a book about Hulda Klager called “Where Lilacs Still Bloom” about her life and how the lilac gardens got started.

Excellent Resource for the Lilac Enthusiast
May 2019
A visit by my book club members, after reading the story of Hulda Klager entitled "Where Lilacs Still Bloom", was a perfect follow-up. During Lilac Days, which occurs for a few weeks during lilac blooming season, one can tour the Klager house, gardens and gift shop. All have been beautifully restored and maintained by volunteers. A large variety of lilacs in the gardens can be viewed (and sniffed) first hand, and many varieties of potted lilacs are available for sale. The website provides an excellent overview of the establishment and event.

Lovely Mother's Day visit
May 2019 • Couples
We were looking forward to visiting the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens as we'd only been there once many years ago...in the rain! We so enjoyed our visit on Mother's Day! The docents were extremely hospitable and informative. Since I'd previously read the biography about Hulda Klager's remarkable life, it was a treat to be able to tour her home. By Mother's Day the early-mid blooms were either finished or waning but there were still many beautiful lilacs in bloom. Our favorites were Vespers and Mr. Lincoln. There just isn't any other lovely spring fragrance as a lilac!

A pretty place to end our road trip!
May 2019 • Couples
(5/5/2019) To conclude our 5 day roadie from Portland to BC and back, we stopped in at these lovely gardens. A variety of lilacs [duh!], rhododendrons and other springtime flowering plants surround the century-old former home of the Klagers. (now a museum). There’s a gift shop (former carriage house) and potting shed and tidy grounds.

Potted lilacs and small starts are for sale, first come first served! Hours 10am to 4pm and open for only 3 weeks yearly (during late April - mid May for “Lilac Days”), adult admission $5.00.

We’ll be back next spring!

I thought I had seen all lilacs and this place has more varieties than I could imagine. The old home is wonderful to go through!

It's a nice place to take your family and get lots of flowers pictures. They sell flowers several times a year.

A beautiful step back into a time long gone.

Since moving to the area 3 years ago, I've visited every Spring and plan on continuing to do so. Lilacs were my mother's favorite flower. Besides all the beautiful plants and flowers, you can tour Hulda's house, it reminded me of an Iowa home we use to visit when I was a kid. The place is cared for and ran by a team of great volunteers. Well worth checking out.

Impressive garden, lovely grounds
Aug 2018 • Friends
Even though it wasn't lilac season, the garden and grounds were well worth a stop. Very old, established trees, a lovely pergola and a peek at the house (closed) through the windows made it a restful stop. Lots of interesting plants as well. Quite an oasis in the neighbourhood, unfortunately next door to a cement plant. Must be spectacular in lilac time.
