Fishing is great here. Great place for families too.

This County park with good parking and several fishing docks is a great place to catch all kinds of fish. Swimming is good here too, and there is a safe place for small kids to swim as well. A great covered picnic area with stoves and tables, plenty of space to park, nice walking trail, right next to the Cowlitz river. The State Fish and Wildlife plants a wide variety of fish, and puts all their "extra" fish in as well. In addition to the usual trout, they even plant Tiger Muskies in this pond! You can catch large triploid trout, regular 8 inch planter trout, blue gill, etc. There is even a slough across the street at the end of the parking area that has more blue gill and catfish! A safe place for you to bring the kids. Relax, feed the ducks and geese, fish, watch the kids in the playground, enjoy nature and eat!
