The first 5-10 minutes of this hike starts with a steep-ish, rocky incline that will get your heart pumping, but then levels out midway with a flat, peaceful forested walk. This middle part is really lovely. Go early in the a.m. for the best chance to social distance, as the trail gets more and more crowded around 9-10 a.m. We arrived at 7:30 a.m. and passed maybe 5-6 people who were already on their way down. It took about 1.5 hours to get to the top. (This included small water and snack breaks). I walk everyday, but found parts of this trail to be steep and challenging if you are not used to much of an incline, or are sedentary. There are LOTS of rocks and exposed roots, so if you have weak ankles or knees, this is not the hike for you. It's semi-challenging at times, but it's not the hardest hike in the world either. Just don't expect flat, smooth trails. The view from the top is beautiful, especially at sunrise! The walk back to the car took about an hour. I would say 80% of people were wearing masks. TIPS: Layer, bring plenty of water and definitely keep covered or use bug spray (the mosquitos at the top are persistent). AVOID the bathrooms. They were pretty filthy and the smell was insane, but they did have toilet paper... if you're desperate. Bathrooms aside, it was a nice little hike!

We were in Seattle for just a few days and were looking for a 'mountain day' and this trail was around an hour away, and we were told this trail was great for dogs and kids. We hail from the great state of Minnesota, and a 'moderate' hiking trail here would be somewhat hilly with a few steep climbs sprinkled throughout. What we found at Little Si was a 4.7-mile round trip that was roughly two hours of uphill, followed by another two hours navigating those same rocky and root-strewn paths going down. There were beautiful sights throughout and at the top, however, this path is very rocky (think cobblestones at their worst), and very few spots to rest en route. We highly recommend walking poles, thick-soled hiking boots, and a LOT of water - bring your own toilet paper - there is an outhouse at the trailhead. Be prepared for a serious 3-4 hour hike (the dogs, kids, and adults, were all panting towards the top of the trail). Sometimes the path is narrow with people going both up and down on the same trail, and for those of us with larger feet, it can be difficult to find good places to place your feet that fit between the rocks/roots. We were proud of ourselves that we made it to the top and back with only sore feet/muscles, but we wouldn't put this hike on a list of things to do again (for non-serious hikers)

The path is clean and safe. The incline is a bit of a challenge but the return hike is great. Ppl free climb in some spots. The climate change is nice too!

Nice basic hike of about 3.7 miles if you don't do the loop. There are spots in the parking lot and an overflow lot but if it's a busy weekend you might have issues with the parking. I believe that this hike is considered moderate but I believe that I would consider it easy. An hour up and an hour down should about do it for time. The view form the top is nice but not overly impressive. Because it's an easy trail, lots of kids and animals on it. If you are looking for a great hike, I would pass on this one. If you have kids, family members of different ages and athletic abilities so you are looking for something very doable for everyone, this is a good choice. The bathrooms smell so gross, the worse I've smelled in a long time. I don't think they are being maintained well at all! So go before you go...!

Moderate hike with a great view, although there is not a lot of room on top. Fairly crowded for a weekday - small group ahead was a bit annoying as they played their music out loud while hiking. But overall a good hike close to Seattle and easy to get done in a morning.
