Peaceful State Park
Aug 2019 • Couples
We stayed here for 1 night while exploring Mt. St. Helens. The online reservation and check in processes were easy. I used campsitephotos.com to help select a campsite ahead of time. The bathrooms were well maintained. All campers in the loop respected the posted quiet hours. Heads up; you will need to purchase tokens for the shower.

Good respite for traveling dogs
Jul 2019
Taking the new highway to the overlook of the volcano is relatively long, so this park offers a nice rest stop for Service Dogs(and people.)

Soooo Peaceful!
Jan 2019 • Solo
The day I walked around Silver Lake I was there on my own. The countryside was magnificent and the lake just stunning. I took so many photos of the reflections and the mosses. These are some of the best photos I have ever taken and I'm now over 70!

Great basecamp for exploring Mount St. Helens
Sep 2018 • Couples
We stayed here 2 nights this past weekend, with the intention of hiking at Mount St. Helens, about an hour drive away. We got in around 8:30 Friday and easily found a site, which were first-come-first-serve. The campsite was nice and clean, in beautiful forest, and near the clean bathrooms. The dumpsters were really convenient as well. Despite the rain that came Saturday, the place was still really pleasant. The forest is just lovely.

The biggest downside I noticed was the road noise.

A bit noisy from road traffic
Jun 2018 • Couples
Park is near road so can get quite noisy from traffic which goes on all night even though this is a dead end road - not sure where all these people are coming from? Many of the sites are not very leveled or hard as rock so difficult to change. Showers available with token. Wood for sale too. Very clean and across the road from Mount St. Helens Visitor Center. Good location if you plan on going all the way to the Johnston Ridge Observatory.

Picnic Time

Great place for campers and RV's, etc. Locals go for family reunions, class reunions, and so forth! Has a covered area with a fireplace!

Great For Camping With Kids
Sep 2017 • Family
Not far from I-5 is in Castle Rock is a great campground for trips with kids. There are bathrooms with warm showers and hot water in the sinks and plenty of water available. It's quiet. There aren't bears. The only down side is this camp site is not as close to Mount St. Helens as I thought but it was still good. And the best part - you can make reservations online!

Great camping

Beautiful state park near Mt St. Helens National Monument. The campsites were heavily wooded and well designed. Showers are available using tokens.

Stayed here for two nights had three sites. All were walk in sites. Very secluded and surrounded by beautiful, tall trees. Showers $1.00 for 6 mins. Sites are basic and small. Nothing extraordinary.

Small State Park
Aug 2017 • Family
Was invited to supper at my son's campsite. Just your average small state park. Bring mosquito repellant.
