Huge Star, beautiful view. Scenic drive up the mountain to get to the park. GPS was a little off but the road is marked really well.

This was well worth the drive from Salem, VA to see this giant star. The hiking paths are easy & short & lead to some spectacular views. The visitor's center is top notch. We did not visit the zoo as there was a Halloween kid's...More

It's great seeing the Roanoke star up close, especially when it's all lit up. The live camera on it is great too! You can't beat the view of the city up there either!

My favorite place to visit when I come to Roanoke. I spent my summers here as a kid, and I used to love when my aunts and cousins would drive me up the mountain at night. A must when you some to Roanoke.

Visited Roanoke for a family wedding. The view from the top was awesome and well worth the trip up the hill.

A nice scenic drive up the mountain to get to the star. What an amazing view of the city and the star itself was very impressive.

An interesting sight: man made very large star that is lit up at night . Can't say the actual visit to it during the day is all that spectacular. If in Roanoke area after dark, I'd say.

Yes, but it is not a dog park. You would have to keep him/her on leash. There are often kids running around by the star. I believe the are has a number of hiking trails that you would enjoy.

Once its dark, it lights up good. You can see it from a distance. And reference the hike. You can drive and park almost next to the star. You walk around the corner and its there and the lookout. Very nice
