Plenty of walks and a car park. The park run is one for people to challenge and attend! Very large area with lots to do and see so a must visit for any dog walker.

Great place for a relaxing walk. Love the marker posts detailing the depth and direction of the mine shafts and coal seams. Safe walk for families and couples. I turned a corner and was asked by a young girl maybe 15yrs old, who asked me to walk with her because she had been approached by a stranger who was asking her odd questions. Obviously I walked her out of the park and continued with my walk. There were a few people walking around and it still felt like a safe area to walk. Then again I am a 58yrs old 6'4" man, not a little 15yrs old girl. Frickley Colliery has a long history in mining here in West Yorkshire, first coal coming out in 1905 I believe. Closed in the year my boy was born 1993. Take a walk around the park, have a look at the foot of the conical features for details of the seams worked.

Took my dog for a walk here after reading previous reviews. Parked in small car park just off Doncaster Road. Lovely and quiet. Lots of different routes to take. There are watery ditches so if your dog, like mine, loves water, beware! Lots of large stones and grassy mounds to explore. There is only one bin that I could see which is at the carpark, so you have to carry things back to there which is not a problem for any responsible dog owner. There is bit of woodland to walk through. A really nice place to visit.

By a accident I found myself in the most beautiful place in the area around my home. Although I have been in this Region for over 60 years this park is beautiful and pleasant fabulous scenery with great walks for young and old riding or jogging a little jem one our back step.
