The welcome here is relaxed and friendly. They serve an ever changing selection of fine brews from breweries across the uk plus bottled beers and (if you ask nicely) a menu of world class whiskey. It’s bench seating around the walls with wooden tables in...More

We have been to the Compass on many occasions. Its a superb Micro Pub, its very quirky in that it has no Bar...simply sit down and the Bar Man will serve you. They only sell Ales/Wine/Spirits and selected Bottle Beers but the prices are reasonable...More

A terrific little place where quality real ale and conversation replaces juke boxes, musak, fruit machines and fizzy lager. With a car park 100m up the road, and the town centre a short walk away, we've visited three times in the past few weeks. Do...More

The best that Gravesend has to offer for superbly kept real ales. It is small but welcoming, the cellarmanship shines through with beer in top notch condition. Conversation can extend to anything and everything and can not be avoided. Dog friendly. Little rear yard for...More

It was the first time I had drunk in the Compass but a great pub that gave the feeling of being a small scale beer festival that I imagine continues throughout the year. Keep it up guys!!

The number of micropubs is growing, and whilst they are all better than your average boozer, few are as great as the Compass. It stands out because of its atmosphere and because its constantly changing ale and cider selection will keep your taste buds tantalised....More

Love this place. It's small and co set with a great selection of drinks. Staff are friendly and it's a pub were people actually talk to strangers and not just because they are drunk. You must visit if you are in gravesend.
