An 'off the beaten track' treasure well worth a visit. However, it has recently been purchased by an artist (N Vital) who has started to put his 'mark' on it and has already installed a number of ' items of art' which do not fit...More

If you like seeing "restored" castles (think Cardiff Castle, Castle Coch) then this is worth going to. Externally it is undoubtedly impressive and many historic items recovered from other buildings were used in its restoration. It also has some rather surprising features - the organ...More

Check out this castle and fall back in time. A lot of great care has been taken in reserving this piece of history. Be sure to check their website as only open certain days (Thursday) in the winter and fully in the summer months.

We visited Tarasp and hiked from Fontana to Sparsels and had a great view of the castle and tiny lake with lilies. For best view, climb the hill with the big cross on the top. We did not visit inside the castle.
