It is a must see. For West Europeans I can look overdone. There is a history behind it and there is many gold and solver church attributes to see, next to the statues of the Virgen de la Pena

This chapel is worth a visit while walking through Mijas. Its a little bit of an uphilll walk from the Plaza Virgen de la Pena. It has a solemn cave like feel if you can see it without a throng of tourists. The surrounding plaza...More

Beautiful little chapel carved into the rock really eerie and peaceful inside you feel like you must whisper .Music playing softly in the background which set the mood ,light a candle for a lost loved one and just sit and reflect.

Many people were praying as some picture happy tourists circulated. In a side room are several sacramental artifacts that are impressive in both meaning and handiwork skill. It is a unique small chapel.

A very qualnt old church, or religious building, not sure which. A few very typical Catholic relics, a prominent location. Free. Well worth a short visit. Really very unusual.

Mijas offers so many different things, and this is one of the many unique and interesting things. A lot of history here, not just a touristic activity.

A most beautiful beautiful little chapel built into a cave at the top of a hill. The chapel is serene and breathtaking. The views are stunning. Absolutely worth a visit.

Apparently that’s how long it took the hermit who dug the cave that forms the core of this interesting little chapel. Worth a visit to see the regalia inside and the view from the roof observation point when it is open.
