This is a space which breathes elegance and style, serving as a backdrop for the best Churchill’s has to offer – its wines. “Churchill’s thinking behind this venture was based upon the philosophy that enjoyment of a glass of Port requires a state of wellbeing”. For those keen to enhance their knowledge of the Douro Region, and the history of Churchill’s, the visitors Centre provides a perfect platform. Tailor-made tastings of our Douro Wine and Port are offered in our Tasting Room, which has a spectacular view of the Rio Douro. Churchill’s Visitors Centre also offers a rare opportunity for Vintage Ports tastings, focusing on the singular and unique characteristics of this Wine, which is generally considered to be one of the great Wines of the World. Churchill’s “al fresco” is an extension of our Visitors Centre. A delightful garden with splendid views over Porto and the Douro River; a privileged place where you can enjoy a glass of wine, taste some delicious finger food with Portuguese flavours, benefit from the fresh air and the sun, feel the pleasure of a truly relaxing and unique moment.

We stumbled onto Churchill’s by chance whilst heading up the hill to Graham’s port house. John Churchill is a fairly new port house (est 1981) and you won’t find it in major supermarkets which makes it unique. We went for the basic port tasting (7...More

Although not much of any sign post so not the easiest place to find. Once there you get a dedicated team which is passionate about their product. First the tasting session with the full range. Then the tour around the storage area with thorough explanations.More

Visited after Graham’s on the way back down the hill. Not a huge choice of ports to taste and buy but as a younger, smaller port producer was great to taste the different ports. Loved the tawny port here which was delicious.

Not as grand an experience after a trip to Graham’s so if you’re planning to go to Graham’s further up the hill stop off at Churchill’s first. A clean and intimate space with a good choice of tasting options for such a relatively new cellar....More

Finally found a port which was drinkable.  Even bought a bottle.  But the "tour" was only looking at storage barrels ... Plus a photo of the crushing process.  Really pleasant hostess who knew her stuff.
