A beautiful, calm beach. Amazing view of Funchal and "frightening" rock above us, far from the noise. Comfortable cablecar. Accessible showers and a changing room. Take a book ang just go there. In April you can easily swim in the ocean

To get to the beach you can either walk down the winding road, dive and "try" and park or simply head down on the cable car. A nice pebble stone beach with clean water.

Definitely worth a visit for the large statue of Christ on top of the cliffs and the view down the coast. There's a little cafe and cable car that will take you down to the beach.

Madeira is a great island to explore and this is a lovely area for walking and viewing. It is great to see the Christus Rex statue and there is a good cafe nearby

The resort has a supermarket and a restaurant and there is a local reliable bus service. The resort itself isvery quiet with a shingle beach.

We were staying in Garajau and so visited this beach twice. We enjoyed the cable car ride (only 2.50 euros return and coffee at the café. A stony beach that seemed to be quite popular and I imagine in the summer would be very busy.
