The best way to access it is by car and cable car - leave your vehicle in the parking near Cristo Rei and then take the cable car straight to the beach.

This place is definitely worth a visit, lovely views out to Funchal too.

It is a national park so ecosystem is very rich, loads of lovely and varied species of fish, also other sea creatures.

Beautiful pebble beach best accessed by cable car

Lovely pebble beach with good facilities. It has free communal showers and changing rooms, toilets and a bar, The beach is clean with a beautiful view. There is plenty of room when we went there and flat concrete sun terraces to spread towels out on....More

Hidden treasure

We got there by cable car which is really great and uncommon thing. The beach is clean, water crystal clear. It wasn't crowded and we spent really nice time there.

Nice beach!

You can reach this beach by car, on foot or by cable car (expensive but fun). The beach is fabulous, quiet and clean. It's a pebble beach not sand. They have toilet facilities, and a nice restaurant. This place is definitely worth a visit.
