This accounts for a nice natural excursion. The park is well kept and provide a small walk around. From the park you won't see much of the gorges. You need to go down. If lucky and water is not too high, you can walk backwards...More

Great time at the gorge. The rock formation is really fantastic and I’m not into rock formation. Worthwhile taking some rubber footwear you can wear in the water as it’s obviously all stones as you enter the water. Great for photographers and lovely if a...More

Wonderful gore very close to Giardino di Naxos. I didn't like at all the shops and attractions they build around this peaceful location. Also the thematic park looks very cheap and abandoned...

The photos posted are even more impressive in real life. Amazing to see the effect of nature, and great that you can get so close to it all. Wading up and down the river is an enjoyable experience.

This is an excellent place for a family outing even with young kids (10 and 5). Start with a nature walk which takes you to some panoramic views of the gole. Then descend by lift or stairs down to the river bed. Take swim shoes...More

Visited here as part of our Mount Etna trip with Sicily Sensations. There are a lot of steps down( and up!) to the bottom of the gorge. We changed in the little cafe storeroom and entered the water. it is possible to rent waders to...More

We stayed near this attraction and were amazed by it. It is really busy in July/August. We didn't use the lift (Euro 15) but climbed the stairs (Euro 1.50) which are well constructed. A small bar/cafe at the base is a nice place to stop...More

It was nice to see the Alcantara gole but it should not be your only goal for the trip. You can combine it with a visit to Etna. We stayed only 45 minutes there and saw everything.
