We spent a whole day exploring it's hidden delights. Well worth the entrance fee and just round the corner from our hotel.

These gardens are not very well signposted from the road, but once you find them they really are a hidden gem!! They are on all different levels so are not too good for anyone who can’t walk very well as there are lots of steps....More

A beautiful garden , very photogenic, a bit difficult to find it by bus but definitely worth a visit. One thing that surprised me was a lot of WC on a relatively small place... Otherwise a beautiful botanical garden with water areas and the like....More

Botanic gardens are like Disneyland for me. I have visited some of the best rated gardens in the world - Kirstenbosch, Versailles, Butchart, Orto Botanico di Padova, etc. La Mortella is a cut above all of them. There are plant species from every continent which...More

It is about 11 km; it takes 20 mins by car or taxi, or you can take a bus heading to Forio (40 mins) and ask the bus driver to stop at Cavallaro/La Mortella. From the bus stop it is 5 mins walk.
