Amazing view and interesting site. Worth the short walk to see the 2,500 year old antient ruin for Apollo.

Amazing view as the sun goes down between the columns. 5 min walk from the port. Has become the postcard for Naxos and gives it that touch of ancient ruin validation that makes it a complete Greek island.

Worth the 10 minute walk from Old Town. Amazing views and history. It’s hard to believe the ruins were built in 530 B.C. Don’t miss!!

It looks so impressive when arriving by boat. But it is fragile. I worry what one really nasty storm could do. Speaking of which... High winds make the causeway wet, so be careful. This is a must visit and it being directly next to the...More

I hadn’t done my homework before coming here so this was a nice surprise. It is magnificent and you can get a really good view of the city through it for a great photo.

This is an absolute gorgeous place and treasure of Naxos. Definately a must see when your visiting the island and treasure the views of the setting sun and old town.

Can get a bit busy with crowds at sunset but it's worth the walk. Also has great views of Naxos old town and the Porara is a great back drop.

It's non-touristy during the month of May. It's very scenic and you can the the entire port of Naxos as you stand behind Portara. The sunset view is also stunning.

Seeing as how you’re already in town and likely enjoyed the old town market already, why not take the stroll to the ruins. Stark entrance, standing all its lonesome. Popular with people at sunset and I can see why!

Loved it! Make sure when you get there after the beach to calculate some time not to miss the sunset due to traffic. The first time we almost missed it. During August Naxos is very crowded... We were lucky enough to enjoy a full moon...More
