Best time to go would be a fair amount of time before sunset, in spite of the wind and the waves splashing the many visitors making their way there by the hundreds in order not to miss the brilliant sight. Wearing heels is not advisable;...More

Its very nice, sunset there is very nice. Its a must see once you are in naxos. In fact it is the very first thing you get to see once you arrive through the ferries. Most enjoyed during the sunset.

Walked till Portara after lunch. It was short walk and liked the way to it. Lots of opportunities to take pictures! Sunsets are beautiful from there 😎

We visited at sunset to catch the sun descending through the arch. To get there, you walk past the ferry port and up a hill. The pavement is fine but it is uphill. Once you get there, there's really no place to sit other than...More

As we neared Naxos on the ferry, the reason I had come here came into view. On a promontory out of the port stood the Portara. It is only the doorway left of the unfinished temple to Apollo. But it is, in its setting, one...More

Cute spot, you can also take a swim from the stairs, a lot of people do, which can be nice given the location. Aside from that, not much to see.
