The days as an active trading post must have been quite something and the remote site, even today, gives you a feel for those early days. Small, but interesting museum, and a large separate gift shop.

We enjoyed seeing all the memorabilia from the movies filmed here, but especially enjoyed seeing the rooms set up as it used to be when the Goulding's first started their lodge. The photographs were interesting to view as well.

The museum is small, so don't expect to see a lot. Loved it because I love John Wayne and I love American history. Found it very interesting.

Here is where you learn about the history of how the area became an attraction, how the movies were enticed to the area and thus well worth the visit. Stay at the lodge too.
