This place was really devastated by Hurricane Harvey and is a long way from being restored. But eventually it (and the entire community of Port A) will be up and running again, even better than before.

We wanted to visit here, but it is still closed from storm damage. In fact, we saw numerous buildings in Port A that were closed, some wrecked and some being renovated.

Unfortunately the Institute took the full brunt of the storm. They are repairing the dorms and trying to get the facility open again. The research building on the pier is completely gone as is the boardwalk to the institute.

We stopped in for a quick visit and learned quite a bit. It is important to learn about preserving and protecting our state's natural and beautiful coast

Saw a sign coming back from the jetty. Pulled in and our children really enjoyed learning about many things to do with marine life. They also have a small gift shop Thanks!

Not certain, you want to Google on that. I'd call and ask about the tour as that's only certain days, certain time.
