Saturday night there was a surprise guest, and it absolutely blew us away. The show had been amazing up to that point, but adding a surprise to the end was so "Nashville" and made our whole trip. Every seat is good. The concessions, drinks, and gift shop all add to the experience. We loved every minute!Visited March 2023Written 20 March 2023
- Sharon BauerMinneapolis, Minnesota8 contributionsIt was very interestingThe tour guide was upbeat and knowledgeable. The virtual tour in the beginning gave me goosebumps. Seeing and learning where the stars stay and enter and exit. We got too see a star getting ready for his show that evening.Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 March 2023
- yostellaBaltimore, Maryland43 contributionsA Night at the Grand Ole OpryWe attended a show at the Grand Ole Opry on St Patricks Day. We had a fun surprise when we got there as there was an Irish Music Festival happening outside with a stage, live music, and exhibits around the grounds. We went in eventually and enjoyed the show. The Nashville Irish Dancing School put on a great performance to kick the night off. We especially enjoyed Eileen Ivers. She brought such energy and fun to her performance. If you pay for a closer seat, stay away from the far right and left of the stage. You will likely get a lovely view of the video cameramen as they move in for shots of the performers. That is great, but who wants to see the back side of the camera people. The seats are tight together, but everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. They do serve food and drink in the lobby during the showVisited March 2023Written 27 March 2023
- Kenzie MHawleyville, Connecticut43 contributionsWalk in a legend's shoes! We loved the backstage tour! We got to walk in the steps of famous country legends. The show that night was full of debuts and 100th show from Meghan Patrick and Carly Pearce. One of the best experiences weil had.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 April 2023
- EBYRegina, Canada56 contributionsGreat evening - the show did not disappoint! We have been to the Opry one other time and this one was even better than the fist time! We were lucky to see someone perform for their first time as well as see a song writer and a few other singers perform and the best was the Oak Ridge Boys! The Opry did not disappoint! It was a great evening with a sold out crowd! Make sure to purchase your parking ticket online when you order tickets to save time.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 April 2023
- Mark GCatonsville, Maryland3,366 contributionsNice But Not The Character Of RymanThe Grand Ole Opry moved 10 miles northeast of Nashville from the smaller (2,362) Ryman to this 4,400 seat venue as the 6th Opry location in 1974. It is wedged in between the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center, the Opry Mills Mall, and the edge of a major highway and though nice just doesn't have the historic character or location of the Ryman. The interior is nice and modern, there is plenty of parking, and grounds around it are attractive. Tours are a little pricy, and it's a shame they have to charge $39 for the tour.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 30 April 2023
- Ellen S5 contributionsA visit to the OpryWe toured back stage. Began with a great video of welcome...it really wowed me! Haley was our guide and had a great personality for this work! She guided us around the dressing rooms and shared tidbits of interest at each stop. Pictures of the stars who have played the Opry for generations line the walls. It's a beautiful venue. Sorry we didn't get to see a show, but they don't have any shows on Sunday when we visitedVisited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 May 2023
- Jennifer H2 contributionsA must do when you are in Nashville!!!Went to a show at the Opry last night. We thoroughly enjoyed the show and it exceeded our expectations!! To get the real country music experience, this is is a must!! I highly recommend seeing a show when visiting Nashville! Just know that the venue is outside Nashville at Opry Land and you will need to Uber or have a car to get there. Google maps indicated it was downtown.Visited May 2023Written 17 May 2023

We were hesitant about going because the only night we could go didn't have any "Stars", but they put on a great show! Parked at shopping mall nearby for free, valet was available.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 16 September 2023

The Grand Ole Opry is fantastic
The show was great - it is a radio show and each act plays around 3 songs
The atmosphere is super positive, people are friendly and the music and lighting is great
Theres an intermission about halfway through (starts at 7 finished just before 9:30ish) where you can buy drinks, go to the bathroom or have a smoke (they give out passes so you can get back in easily)
Seats were spot on, good view of the stage in section 4, they are pews so i would recommend either going right in the middle for a good view or picking an end seat to avoid having to shimmy past people
Backstage tour was good, wasn't 'wow' but was cool to see the dressing rooms and stand on the stage and get a photo - worth doing once for the experience (would definitely go back to the opry for a show but skip the backstage tour now I've done it once)

Our first visit but definitely not our last. We loved every minute of the show! The Opry staff were so helpful and friendly, not batting an eye when someone asked for directions while standing next to the sign 😁. We weren’t sure if our balcony seats would be a good thing but now I realize what others have said - there really is no bad seat!

Each act was so different but so good. The seats were comfortable and roomie. The sound was amazing and clear. Not too loud or too quiet. The tour after the show was interesting and well run. The guide was upbeat and informative. The tour lasted about an hour.

I watched Sam Hunt at the Grand old Opry. He was awful and a disgrace to any music particularly country music. He sang about Walmart it was pathetic. I had to turn the station. he's terrible!

We went to the Opry Country Classics Show, we felt it was very rushed. As coming from the UK we were not used to shows being broadcasted on radio, the host kept shaking his hands to prompt a false applause, it just felt very forced. Show ended very abruptly we were unsure if it normally happens that way or something happened. We sat there shocked and disappointed that it was the end. Maybe it ran over from the constant ad reads? Felt like we’d paid to see a radio show rather than an actual show at the grand ole Opry. Disappointed, not sure if we’d return to the Opry again unless we knew it wasn’t on the radio.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. The paid parking was less than a minute's walk

I’m not sure, would call them and check. Sometimes buying tickets is so difficult it’s no wonder people make errors.
It seems no questions were asked that would have alerted you that you were getting that type of tickets. Good luck.
They are nice there I’m sure they will try to help.
I noticed under prohibited items it does say cameras with telephoto (zoom) lenses are prohibited. Is this still true? Has anyone taken a camera in with a zoom lens? Many posts say cameras are allowed.

There does not appear to be any restriction on the use of cameras. How would anyone know you had a zoom lens. Using phones is another matter.
