- PHILIP R49 contributionsNot quite Athens, but....no pollution. This was our last day in Nashville before returning to the UK. The park was a short walk from our hotel and lovely to sit by the lake on a cool Autumn early afternoon having some lunch. Very tranquil and plenty of wildlife on the lake and in the park and the trees were just turning golden/red. Didn't find the Taylor Swift bench or have time to go into the impressive replica of the Parthenon, but hey, hopefully in the very near future.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 November 2023
- Ruth U6 contributionsa leisurely strollInstead of venturing inside, we opted for a leisurely 1.5-hour ramble around the grounds, soaking in the meticulously maintained landscapes. The architect's vision unfolded as we followed an audio tour, weaving tales of design choices and the building's fascinating history. While the grand interior remained unseen, the edifice's presence was undeniable, exuding an air of timeless elegance. Ample parking eased the entire experience, making this exploration a breeze from start to finish.Visited December 2023Travelled on businessWritten 16 December 2023

You can take some great photos here or go for a short jog. It was a very pretty park!Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 May 2024

As first time visitors to Nashville, we were unaware of this gem until we saw the attraction in Trip Advisor.Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 July 2024
- WriterKass144 contributionsBeautiful Nashville Attraction!Centennial park was a fun stop on our first family road trip to Nashville. It’s a beautiful park. However, we came in the heat of the day in July and that made it a little rough. I would highly recommend coming in the evening or on a rainy day. The heat and sunniness made it difficult to enjoy the landmark. The pavement radiated the heat and buying the snow cones they sell around the park just made for a quickly melted mess. On an early morning, evening, or rainy day I think the beauty and drama of this Nashville attraction can be much better admired. Parking wasn’t too bad and the pond was pretty. I’d recommend stopping here when in Nashville!Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 17 July 2024

We walked over to the Taylor Swift reading bench near the lake. Parking is free and plentiful. This is a great area to get outside and walk around. It is a very pretty area. I recommend. Nice park for a quick walk. The Parthenon is open, but under construction so it doesn't make a good backdrop for photos at the moment. The city is also adding additional trees and landscaping, so part of the park is roped off. We were able to walk around the pond/canal. On a Tuesday evening in July, it was quite busy. Parking is plentiful and free. My kids enjoyed seeing the many squirrels that are not shy at all. Very cute! We felt safe spending time here.

There is so much to choose from at this location. It starts with the centerpiece of the park which is the replica of the Parthenon. Learn more about the original Parthenon and statue of Athena, as well as, the Celebration marking the 100th anniversary of the State of Tennessee which brought the structure to Nashville.
Beyond this there is a lot of open space to relax, have a picnic, enjoy a beautiful day, or play with the kids. Also, don't miss the ponds on the property where you will usually find some ducks wandering around in search of food.
Be sure not to miss the detail on the walls which surround certain areas of the park. There are many food choices nearby to pick up on your way to a picnic. Generally, there is plenty of parking on site as well.
However, please note that at the time of our most recent visit there was significant construction which did detract from the park to a degree.

Such a beautiful park! Very well maintained and safe. We came to see the Parthenon and ended up walking through the park. We saw ducks and other statues throughout the park as well as people having picnics in the grass. Parking is free and there is no admission to walk through the park or view the beautiful Parthenon from the outside. This is definitely worth a stop....I would visit again

We were visiting Nashville for the first time and we thought this would be interesting. Parking lot is big and free. The museum itself had lots of paintings which we didn’t find too interesting. It’s bigger than you think and was not really stocked with any wow things. It was just an okay stop. We’ve been to Greece and the real Parthenon so this evoked memories.

The scenes change pretty rapidly just strolling through the park. Botanical areas, pond, open green space, walkways with stone ledges, live musician set up singing by the food vendors. relaxing and enjoyable.

What a beautiful park - the landscaping and well-manicured lawns and flower beds around the ponds are wonderful. Some nice photo ops for the family! The Parthenon is an actual full size replica of the original in Athens Greece, and is itself over 120 years old, although its been rebuilt and renovated over the years. There is a museum inside that you can also take advantage of, but not necessary to enjoy the park and sights!

What a beautiful site to see! We stayed about a block away and it was a wonderful walk in the morning to see the sites. Easy walk, not many hills or steps. There were people standing in front of the building preaching with a speaker, which was a little irritating. Did not check out the museum on this but it looked interesting.

This is an impressive view sitting on top of a hill and looking down at the city. The surrounding area is covered in grass and trees. The bells that ring every fifteen minutes are a really nice touch. Take time to read the walls as there is a great amount of Tennessee history.
