This scenic reserve provides views of the Upper King Valley and the Alpine National Park. It is believed the lookout was once a vantage point for bushranger Harry Power to view approaching troopers during his period of notoriety in the north-east...more

Powers Lookout is a wonderful part of Ned Kelly history. Harry Powers was his mentor and this area was Harry's hideout. The views are amazing and Harry couple see anyone approaching. The lookout is about 18km from Whitfield and once you arrive easy access to...More

Good views from the lookout at the car park, but even better views if you clamber up and down a few steepish staircases to the second lookout. Also an interesting story about the bush ranger Harry Power.

This is my favourite place in the whole of Kellycountry, the view over the King river valley is breathe taking, and right were Harry Power and Ned Kelly roamed, Harry was caught by the Police here, although the Police had to bribe a Kelly relative...More

An outstanding lookout with good access but there is stairs both down and up. The information at the Car park is excellent and gives you an idea of the history. It's 19 kl from Whitfield by good road. If it's wet there is a shelter...More

Spectacular views that change every time you go up there! The first platform is accessible by anyone, no long walks or need to venture into the bush, so great for those with mobility issues. The second platform is a short walk, well pathed with stairs...More

Spectacular view. There are 2 lookouts, walk out to the second one which is the best. Doesn't require a really high fitness level although it's a little steep. On a nice day the view will take your breath away.

We took a deviated route to our destination specifically to stop here. I'd been a number of times when much younger and wanted to revisit it. View amazing. Also spotted wallabies!

The walk to the extra bit of the lookout is great but would recommend toddler in Carry rucksack as big boulders and steep steps. Dirt road is no more than 2-3km. Good gravel. Big parking area. Interesting story boards at car... More
