The Great Southern Rail Trail is a cycling and walking trail between Leongatha and Welshpool. The trail travels straight though the historic town of Toora and this is a great spot to base yourself to explore the trail. The views over farmland and Wilsons Promontory National Park are spectacular.

The Great Southern Rail Trail is an easy track to walk on. Could be improved with more historical signage & posts with distances. Great for any fitness level & nice to be able to walk with four legged friends.

All good but the track surface on the last section between Welshpool and Port Welshpool was very hard to ride on. Would recommend using the road for this section. Next to no traffic there.

Long or short the ride is great, with side ventures to suit. Really good fun with lots to see. Just be aware of the wind direction and travel accordingly. The food stops work well for that longer weekend ride. The rail trail also shows up...More

the rail trail runs to the south of the main street, through the park. It gors to Welshpool and then port welshpool to the east and Foster, Fish Creek, Meeniyan and Leongatha to the west.
