What an opportunity to see so many iconic Australian animals and birds. Wallaby, Kangaroo, Echidna and Koala we had been lucky enough to see in the wild during our one month tour of Victoria, Western Australia and South Australia, but not this close! It was...More

This place is full of beautiful Australian wildlife. Some of these you will probably never see in the wild. The diversity and beauty is breathtaking. Definitely a place to return to many times.

I really love seeing animals without cages between us, and because many of the inhabitants of Healesville Sanctuary are Australian natives, this is the case here! You can take your time and wander around the enclosures. Try to keep an eye out for volunteers feeding...More

The grounds and landscaping are kept in very good condition and make for a pleasant backdrop to view the Australian animals. There are a number of exhibits that have naturalist talks scheduled throughout the day including dingo, koala and lyrebirds which were low key but...More

We went on a Monday but it was surprisingly rather crowded! School children were on excursions there which added a lively atmosphere to the whole place. A sanctuary I’d re-visit any time I’m in Healesville!
