We detoured to see this town on a quiet Monday morning. Nostalgic. Most of the shops were closed but Widow Twankey’s was doing good business with the outdoor tables filled with coffee lovers. Bought some old-fashioned lollies in the sweet shop. Clean toilets in the...More

It is easy to understand the appeal of this main street for period films. It is largely intact and most of the buildings are quite charming. If only the 21st century cars could be removed! Even with the vehicles it is very pleasant wandering up...More

Best seen out of weekends or public holidays. Don't worry if a number of shops are closed, just soak up the dreaming landsscape of the past. Well worth a detour.

Loved this town. Very old shops, I felt the only thing that spoils this Main Street is having cars in it as you really feel like you are going to see horse and carts. This street has been used for movies and you can definitely...More

Clunes is mostly a heritage-listed town dating back to the gold rush days. I love the character of this old town with many still original storefronts. You can imagine you are in an old western movie set but this is real. This is my second...More
