I found great books on Scotland and on Dumfries and Galloway in particular. A great local bookstore has the personality of its owner on display, and Shaun clearly has a big personality. I could have spent many, many hours here.
A gem of a place with so many nooks and crannies filled with books, you'd probably find something new in each visit. Particularly liked the reading snug up a ladder, and the oddities on the walls and the ceilings.

When my boyfriend told me that he'd booked us 2 nights in Scotland in February my heart sank. I feared cold and rain and being in the middle of nowhere. Luckily he knows me well and had chosen Wigtown which is Scotland's National Book Town....More
Took a trip south recently with my wife and ended up in Wigtown. Having strolled around the small village centre we ended up chatting to Shaun in The Book Shop.
This has got to be the most interesting and fantastic second hand book shop I...More
