Its a lovely walk up to the Airlie Monument and peaceful to just sit up there and enjoy the stunning scenery and see the monument in all its glory. Well worth a wee walk up there.

This is a straightforward walk up from the car park on a good path. The path zig-zags up and through pine trees, the spacing of which allows much growth and wildlife on the forest floor with squirrel and deer very much in evidence. The actual...More

A good friend and fellow walker obtained the key from a castle keyholder, and since it was a fair day and, we already knew, not a bad trek up to the Beautiful Airlie Monument, it was an opportunity not to be missed. On view from...More

Airlie Castle is vey nice place for a wedding party and other large parties. River is a long way below castle and easy to get to with various walks.

After a rather muddy start to the walk we were soon in amongst the forest of tall trees. The path surface is quite reasonable for most of the way. A few slightly steep sections, but nothing too severe. Path has plenty of posts to mark...More

Fabulous walk up to the Monument. Not overly onerous but quite a walk. Although there are no facilities as such, take a wee picnic with you and stay a while. Great views. You can see as far as Montrose on a good day.

awesome view of the glens. I had a nice hike up the hill the monument itself is not accessible inside but the monument and the view are both well worth the short hike.

There is a small car park at the base of the hill but the drive up to it is quite bumpy so I have parked on the roadside in the past. The climb up is quite steep in parts but both manageable for those with...More
