Although the actual museum is on the small side, it has several interesting exhibits. More to the point, along with the old Kirk and another exhibition area it forms the larger entity - Tain Through Time, and it is all well worth seeing.

There is a lot of information to be gained about James IV and his pilgrimages to the saints tomb with the added incentive that his mistress lived nearby. That's in the Pilgrimage section whilst the museum section is well worth your time.

I think there was a small fee, but I can't honestly remember. I would have remembered if it was unreasonable, so it must have been a small amount and worth it in my eyes not to be exact with amount. I do remember how... More
