We didn't go up to the monument itself but it can be seen from just about anywhere in the area. Has a love or hate relationship with the town's people due to his policies.

Demolition/destruction often mentioned due to the connection with the Highland Clearances. Another point of view given to me by a local resident was - keep it there so we never forget. History as they say is written by the victor.

A very large statue visible from a long way off and best viewed from a distance. Not worth the long journey to see close up.

Well worth the climb we went up the front the most difficult did not know about going up the back way but not to worry well chuffed with the view glad i did it at last
