John Lennon came to the Durness area as a child so this garden was created to honor his time in Durness. Lovely, small memorial to him.

We stopped here on our tour of the Highlands and were quite surprised to find this little gem of a village and it's ties to John and this small memorial garden was a walk back in time to when a great man walked the area.

There's parking. And a lovely little garden to remember John Lennon and reflect on his life and the music he made.

The memorial is nice - the story is lovely - from Liverpool to Inverness by train then bus to Durness at the northernmost point of mainland UK. A young John Lennon on his hols!

This came as a bit of a surprise - a tranquil little garden beside the community hall. Great place and to sit and soak at n the atmosphere.

We made a quick stop here on our North Coast 500 trip. It's touching that the people of Durness have set up this memorial. Very simple. Nice quotes on the standing slabs.

Considering the great man's connection with Durness it was sad to see how abandoned the memorial garden appears to have become. I understand that this was funded and created by the townspeople which is a lovely gesture however it really could do with a clean...More

We had seen a mention of this in Rick Steves' Scotland, so I asked to stop on a cloudy, windy day. I was honestly impressed that the people of Durness had created and dedicated such a lovely space to commemorate John Lennon's years of summer...More

We stopped here momentarily to have a quick look around whilst the sun decided show. The garden is a lovely idea but needs more regular upkeep and care. The shrubs and flowers are hardy to suit the Scottish weather so you shouldn't arrive thinking there...More
