Stopped here while doing the north coast 500. Fantastic beach and worth a stop and a walk. Not very busy as we travelled in May but suspect due to location will never have to suffer crowds!

Durness Beach is one of many stunning beaches along the northern coast of Scotland. Wonderful for walking, if this beach had the sun of the Mediterranean it would be the favourite location of millions.

Beautiful and award wining beach with stunning turquoise waters. Easily accessible and Car parking is available and there is a golf course near by if you fancied few rounds. I don’t recall seeing toilets near by but it’s close to Durness town and Lairg village.

Stayed at the site right on the headland and although the weather was extremely unkind to us Durness was undoubtedly just as breathtakingly beautiful and well worth the trip. The site was small but welcoming with a handy bar (just what you need on a...More

One of the most beautiful, cleanest and peaceful beaches i have visited :-) We did visit out of season and it was just a little chilly - but perfect place to sit and blow away the cobwebs :-)

Travelling north on the A9 there are some beautiful little harbours all the way up to Wick, notably Helmsdale, Latheron Wheel and Lybster, Sorry I cannot help with the Outer Hebrides asI have never been. Have fun
