Excellent tour. Would highly recommend. Andy is very knowledgeable about the battery and lots of information shared well worth a visit. Transports you back in time and the visit to the mess hall is amazing. Would also reccomend the tour at HMS Tern.

A lot of interesting information about the 1st and 2nd world wars well worth the visit, and beautiful views. You need to check the times of the visit each day as they varey.

Orkney is littered with remains of ww1 and ww2 defences due to the role the harbour of Scapa Flow served in both wars. airfields. Most of these ruins have just been abandonded and you are free to walk around. The difference with the Ness Battery...More

The Ness battery sits further along the shoreline from Stromness, very close to the caravan site and golf course. There are directions and information about the tour times on the Ness Battery website, the tour times also appear on their twitter feed, so be warned...More

I have no idea what you refer to as ‘Scapa Flow Trail’. Nothing I’ve been part of and never heard of it. The information on the website, Facebook, Twitter, sign on the gate, tour times listed on board at car park below Battey, leaflet etc...More

Visited Ness Battery earlier this year and found it very enjoyable with a guide who not only new about the Battery was also very knowledgeable about the surround area. Well worth the visit. Paul Gander
