Scotland's best kept secret.... Until now! Hidden beneath an innocent Scottish farmhouse lies Scotland's Secret Bunker. A 450 foot tunnel leads you to the blast proof doors which defend 24,000 square feet of secret accommodation which was built to help safeguard Scotland during the Cold War in the event of a nuclear attack. The Secret Bunker lies 100 feet underground and is the size of two football pitches, one on top of the other so there is plenty of exploring to do! Come and discover how Scotland would have been governed from the depths of Fife and how they would have survived a nuclear attack from the most deadly bombs!

A well preserved and presented slice of history and one of a number of "Regional seats of Government" built in the UK during the cold war. No doubt there are new ones we know nothing about! The audio commentary handsets are good if you have...More

Myself and 2 children (12 & 9) really enjoyed our visit to the bunker. Very interesting, thought provoking and a lot to see! My only complaint was the cafe! 2 soft drinks, a coffee, 3 cakes & 3 sandwiches which came to £28! My son...More

We went here on our last day in Edinburgh bit of a way out but never less very interesting. The time we went there was a school party there so they demonstrated the sirens how they used to sound was brilliant. Each room is explained...More

Had a visit to the Bunker on a very rainy and snowy day. Is really interesting and kids enjoyed it. We avoided the black and white film as it was quite distressing showing films taken from Hiroshima and other nuclear disasters. Hard to explain to...More

The secret bunker really has to be experienced. It takes you back in time, using original items, and rooms made up as they would have been for the time stated. Some of the items are a bit distressing, but acts as a reality check as...More

Quite a bit out of the way to get to, but worth a visit nevertheless. Spent a couple of hours exploring the site and learning the history attached to it. Worth a visit.

A worthwhile 2hr trip on a cold, wet day. Not cheap and an extra cost of an audio guide felt a bit cheeky and was slightly surprised that the audio was not included- it really should be! Would have given an easy 4*. Rooms well...More

Arrived with very high hopes but left very disappointed. The building itself is a fascinating insight into Cold War defence and planning, the rooms are generally fairly well laid out and there is no sense of claustrophobia one might expect. However... I have absolutely no...More
