What a beautiful old fishing harbour. The pretty little harbour was quiet when we visited in Feb and the lobster shack was closed. Despite that we really liked it. There is a nice little beach close by too. There are lobster pots everywhere and the...More

I just loved this harbour. Would love to live in one of the cottages/houses. There is a small sandy beach next to the harbour great for children & suspect quite a few rock pools

One of our group knew of Crail harbour, & suggested we stop to 'tour'. It doesn't too long at all, as it must be one of the smallest harbours existing. However it is obviously steeped in history & is the jewel in the crown of...More

A sunny day meandering around Crail is a lovely way to spend some time. Lots of interesting houses, buildings nooks and crannies. The harbour is beautiful with boats and creels .

This harbour in East Neuk is a quiet and romantic place. There is a small lodge at the harbour selling lobsters and crabs from 12 to 4 p.m.Excellent.

Lovely small harbour with a small sandy beach. It is probably nicer when the tides in but it is still a lovely spot to sit in the sun and enjoy the views. Signs suggest no vehicle access but there are parking spaces at the harbour....More

Worth the detour from St Andrews...great views and plenty of local eateries and pubs. Accessible by public transport and ideal for coastal walks.

This is a gem of Neuk. It's a small fishery town but there are a lot to enjoy. When we visited, small stone houses were lined with lots of flowers and are perfect for photoshoot. Nice stopover from Edinburgh to St. Andrews.

Well maybe not EVERY Scottish calendar, but pretty close. "Picturesque" doesn't do the harbour justice. Of course go down to the harbour itself, noting the barrier that can be lowered to protect the boats from rough seas and buy some locally caught shellfish. If you...More

Sorry, I've never found mussels on any of my beach walks. Plenty to be found in the local restaurants though.

Hi Kristi. Two nights is not too long for a visit to Crail. Crail is quite small but whilst you’re there there are several beautiful places to visit. Elie has a wonderful beach where you can walk as much or little as you can... More

As far as I know yes. But was told they are unpredictable and not always helpful in being caught! Have a great time!
