I've visited a lot of castles since moving to Scotland, and this one has a unique appearance and story. Parts of it are still intact, which is a great contrast to the parts that have fallen into ruin. Lots of different eras, from the 1200s...More

Beautiful castle. Beautiful grounds and stunning gardens. Gift shop had great trinkets and outlander merchandise as part of season one was filmed here. Lots of rooms to visit and a few information boards explaining things. We spent a few hours here and enjoyed it greatly.

Easy to find, Easy to get to. Lovely surroundings. A small but well preserved building which was interesting to go round during its open season. Not too costly either at about £6.

Stopped here on our last day in Scotland. The castle, we are Outlander fans, was interesting and enjoyed seeing where the filming was done. Parts were totally restored and other parts in ruins. Worth the trip, the gardens were nice and the little cafe friendly.
