Tuesday 30 January 18, my husband and I drove to Fiddleford in Dorset to go to visit ‘Fiddleford Manor’ under the care of the English Heritage. Fiddleford Manor is a medieval manor house, completed in 1370. It has undergone many changes since then, but the...More

Gorgeous house that I would happily live in if I could add a few modern conveniences :-) Beautiful setting and you can do a circular walk too. Always worth seeing if the lavender project next dorset is open too.

Happened to see this on line, worth a visit if you are already in the area but I wouldn't drive miles as only small, we only stayed for about 10minutes but definitely worth a look. Free parking and admission.

Well not quite ! But still an interesting little Manor House supposedly built for the Sheriff of Somerset. Well preserved and would originally been a lot bigger as the adjoining building is privately owned and therefore not accessible. Free parking and admission. I combined it...More

A sensitively restored building in an idyllic riverside location. Small, but lots of little details to enjoy. Check out the beautiful hand- made clear glass in the leaded lights!

It's not large but it's interesting and although it's English Heritage it's free to visit and worth stopping by. Thought to date from the 14 century the wooden structure supporting the stone and tile roof is quite something

This is an interesting building with exceptional old beams. We were on a walk and both the manor and the mill, together with the lavender project are worth a visit. There are lots of trails and disused railway tracks in this area to walk on....More
