Beautiful beach and area that is a mission to get to in the summer (unless on foot/bike/boat) but beyond worth it and so much more chilled than Bournemouth beaches! If you are going across the ferry use public transport or walk!

I took my three children here on my own. We got there early (around 9:30) so we were able to park for free on the road close to the beach path. £6 all day for the car park. There was a large amount of rubbish...More

No other way to explain it apart from this beach is completely unspoilt. A clean, golden sand with clear, calm waters. On the other side to Sandbanks, the same side as Swanage Bay. So you will need to get on the ferry but well worth...More

What a great stretch of beach, sand and fairly clear sea, sand dunes behind and a little stream running through it. Get to it from the chain ferry at sandbanks, can take the car on it, really novel. Well worth a day out.

Got off the little ferry from Sandbanks onto this fabulous sandy beach which stretches for miles. It’s absolutely gorgeous. You could be anywhere.

Had dinner at shell bay recently - cannot recommend strongly enough. The food was absolutely delicious, the service warm and friendly and the view was incredible. A very special evening.

Shell Beach was lovely, although not many shells! It's a great beach. We parked on the road as it was quiet. It's confusing as you approach as all you see is expensive fees for the toll, but the car park is to the right. Very...More

This is a great place to stroll along the miles of sand and enjoy the views. Take a picnic and plenty to drink. No shade in summer.

Lots of parking, no steps or cliff to walk down, long sandy beach, big cafe/restaurant and shop facilities.
