We walked along this beach recently and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a Monday morning and we virtually had the miles of sand to ourselves. Strictly, dogs should be kept on a lead but as it was so quiet we let her off the lead,...More

There is good access to the beach from the car park over a boardwalk. The beach was quieter than the middle beach and there are nice views across to sandbanks and one can watch the ferry going backward and forward.

Two visits in a week - hugely varied standard: one very enjoyable well prepared, one a joke- fish barely defrosted, ‘curry’ reminiscent if brown Windsor soup... Pity, as lovely place with fantastic outlook.

We often visit Swanage and always visit Shell bay with its soft sand and blue sea, you could easily think you were somewhere abroad. It's very quiet n you need to take supplies as no where to buy anything, we spent all day relaxing in...More

The water is clear with a sandy beach. Beautiful location but problems with fires in the summer time because of bar b ques. Take a picnic and blanket and enjoy the harbour views towards Brownsea Island.

A large group of us has been eating here on May Bank Holiday for some years. The food is excellent, service is good and the atmosphere very relaxed and friendly

An enjoyable walk along the beach without the hustle and crowds that you normally see on the beach I would recommend

Beautiful beach and area that is a mission to get to in the summer (unless on foot/bike/boat) but beyond worth it and so much more chilled than Bournemouth beaches! If you are going across the ferry use public transport or walk!
